Weis to anchor town center in Middletown area

Blenheim Group, developers of the 1,500-acre Village of Bayberry master-planned community in the Middletown area announced Weis Markets will anchor a planned 280,000-square-foot Bayberry Town Center in 2025. Bqyberry is about six miles northeast of Middletown.

Weis Markets will operate a 64,000-square-foot supermarket and gas station in the retail center. Weis Markets is a Mid-Atlantic food retailer operating 197 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, and Virginia. It currently operates three stores in southern Delaware. The Village of Bayberry is a residential community located along Boyds Corner Road (Rt. 896) between Jamison Corner Road and Routes 1 and 13. The development includes almost 2,700 homes (1,700 sold). The community features walking trails and an 11-acre fishing pond that can alsobe used  by kayakers.

Groundbreaking for the Bayberry Town Center is expected later this year.

The center will also feature 31,000 square feet of professional office space, green spaces for community programming, 145 townhomes on and internal street, and trail connections to 3,400 homes.
