75

On May 31, Delaware State Police will lower the flags at Troop 6 as construction begins on a new complex can begin in the Prices Corner area west of Wilmington.

The current building will be razed and a new complex will be constructed at the site off Kirkwood Highway.

Troop 6 first opened its doors in 1970 and works in the Kirkwood Highway corridor and northern New Castle County.

Troopers assigned to Troop 6 are often seen in the Wilmington area, Christiana Mall, and on Interstate 95. In northern Delaware, State Police handle calls in commercial developments and along main highways, with County Police working in residential areas.

Troop 6 troopers will continue to patrol these same areas during construction.

Troop 6 administration will temporarily relocate to Troop 2 in the Bear-Glasgow area.
