The Better Business Bureau serving Delaware recognized five Delaware businesses.
There were three winners of the Torch and one recipient of the Thrive Award, and one winner of the Rush Award. These awards recognize organizations that demonstrate a solid commitment to doing things right, not only in their companies but within their entire industry and community.
During the presentation, BBB President Christine Sauers stated, “Tonight’s honorees have demonstrated they know the importance of building and maintaining trust in their companies. These awards allow us to celebrate some accredited businesses that are role models and set a high standard for how they operate their businesses.”
The “Thrive Award for Community Impact” honors those organizations that have gone above and beyond to embrace and advance diversity. “A community of inclusion does not exist without trust and integrity, and vice versa,” said Sauers.
The winner of the 2023 Thrive Award for Community Impact is Kimmel Carter Roman Peltz & O’Neill, the largest law firm in Delaware to handle personal injury and workers’ compensation cases exclusively. The law firm has become a fixture in the Delaware community through charitable involvement and years of successful advocacy for injured Delawareans – often speaking up for those who cannot.
The BBB Torch Awards for Ethics competition recognizes businesses that strive to go above and beyond in their dealings with customers, employees, vendors, and the community.
BBB Delaware presents the Torch Awards for Ethics each year to businesses that exemplify ethical behavior and display integrity in all aspects of its operations. Three Delaware companies were selected as 2023 recipients of the Torch Awards for Ethics. Those businesses are:
- The Paint Doctor
- Ashton Pools by Design
- Envirotech Environmental Consulting Inc.
The evening was topped off by the Edward M. Rush Sr. Memorial Award presentation for an outstanding family-owned business that displays integrity and exemplifies the ideals of community and civic service. The 2023 recipient of the “Rush Award” is Yencer Builders. Yencer Builders was chosen as this year’s winner for their core values that align directly with BBB’s along with their desire to help improve the community in which they live and work. Yencer Builders goes beyond the business of building and is committed to paying it forward to ensure their community flourishes.
