A volunteer crew made up of Delaware municipal electric system workers traveled to the Navajo Nation in Arizona to bring electricity to isolated homes. The trip was a project of DEMEC, an association of municipal electric utilities in Delaware. The Navajo Nation, which includes portions of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, is 14 times the size of Delaware, with less than one-fifth of the population of the First State. DEMEC’s work followed preparations made by the Navajo electric utility and others. (Photos courtesy of DEMEC)
