President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden flew out ut of the Air Guard base at Wilmington-New Castle Airport Sunday night after spending a quiet weekend at their home near Greenville. They were slated to arrive at the White House at around 9 p.m. after an hour-long flight.

No public events were held during the weekend. Biden’s frequent weekends in Delaware boost the Wilmington economy, with aides, security, and the media taking rooms at Wilmington hotels. The Bidens typically attend mass and spend time with family and friends.

The president was spotted over the weekend at Quoin, a new restaurant in downtown Wilmington. The building also houses a boutique hotel.

Biden’s trips to Delaware have drawn criticism for their expense, although he typically uses the Marine One helicopter fleet, which typically costs far less than Air Force One flights.
