Former Lt. Gov., Attorney General Denn named foundation managing director

The Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation named former Delaware Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General of Matthew Denn as a Managing Director. Former Chief of Staff and Chief of Policy and Innovation to the City of Providence, Rhode Island Nicole Pollock, as DRK’s new Chief of Staff.

Denn had been a partner at the corporate law firm of DLA Piper.

The foundation is based in a San Francisco suburb. Denn will remain in Delaware. The foundation supports early stage, high impact social enterprises that deal with issues facing society.

“Adding these two talented and experienced leaders to our team adds critical expertise for our portfolio with two highly respected and seasoned state and municipal leaders who have spent much of their careers in public service,” said Jim Bildner, CEO of Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation. “Increasingly we see our portfolio organizations partnering with states and cities to help those most vulnerable – Matt and Nicole know this work first hand and will help accelerate these partnerships.”

Denn joins DRK Foundation as a Managing Director where he will bring social justice expertise and work in creating more equitable access to societal resources, to DRK portfolio organizations, within the United States, a release stated.

Denn served as the 25th Lieutenant Governor of Delaware from 2009 to 2015, and the 45th Attorney General of Delaware from 2015 until 2019. He also served as the Insurance Commissioner of Delaware from 2005 to 2009.

Denn is a graduate from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his JD from Yale Law School.
