President Joe Biden is spending a long weekend at his home near Greenville that included a quick trip back to the White House.

The President flew into Wilmington (New Castle) airport on Thursday night after attending an African leaders summit in Washington, DC.

On Friday, he took part at a veterans event hosted by U.S. Sen. Tom Carper at the National Gaurd center named in honor of his late son Beau. He departed Friday afternoon for the White House. Biden will return to Delaware Friday night accompanied by First Lady Dr.Jill Biden.

Biden has not been in Delaware in recent weeks due to a White House wedding for his granddaughter, the annual Thanksgiving trip to New England, and events in Washington, D.C.

Biden has taken heat for the costs of his frequent trips to Delaware, with the New York Post controlled by Fox News’ Miurdoh family, providing nonstop coverage.

The Post has focused on the administration not having visitor logs from his home near Greenville, with a Republican-controlled House expected to focus on his son Hunter’s laptop early next year.

The administration has countered by pointing out a stronger-than-expected performance by Democrats in the mid-term election, lower gas prices and signs that inflation is cooling as positive developments.

The Delaware trips provide a modest boost to the local economy, with staff and security taking hotel rooms in Wilmington.

Flight restrictions are in place in the Wilmington area through Monday.
