My view: A new look for our newsletter

Hello everyone,

A while back, technical problems in feeding content from the Delaware Business Now website led to this newsletter being hand-assembled five times a week.

The hands-on approach worked better than expected. The previous practice of scheduling stories within the limitations of the RSS feed was cumbersome, and more than once, links to the website crashed and burned.

Even with the hand-built approach, there was still a visible shortcoming. The format from our newsletter provider MailChimp had become tired, with alternate templates geared toward business sales efforts, the core business of MailChimp. Along the way, MailChimp ended up being acquired by financial software giant Intuit and now has deeper pockets.

While perhaps unrelated to the impact of new ownership, MailChimp developed a fresher news style format that you see in today’s newsletter. The design still has a minor bug or two, but nothing that should affect your reading experience. Let us know your thoughts on the new look, and keep sending along news tips and suggestions.
