President Joe Biden is expected to spend the weekend at the family’s home near Rehoboth Beach.
Flight restrictions are in place in the Rehoboth area from Friday through Sunday.
The president is scheduled to speak on the student loan forgiveness order at Delaware State University on Friday.
Biden has ties with the HBCU and its president Tony Allen, a friend and speechwriter from the his time in the Senate.
Biden has been on the road in recent weeks campaigning for candidates as the midterm election approaches and touting the administration’s economic programs.
Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden spend the bulk of their Delaware weekends at their home near Greenville, with occasional visits to their North Shores home.
Weekend visits typically feature no public events.
The administration is wrestling with the issues of inflation and a recent increase in gas prices as OPEC announced plans to cut production.
