I-95 southbound to close over the weekend

Paving, striping and related work between Exit 8/US 202 and I-495 spilt will require the weekend closure of I-95 southbound through Wilmington and the 2nd Street on-ramp to I-95 southbound. Many motorists can use I-495.

– I-95 southbound: Weekend closure-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7th to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10th.

– 2nd Street on-ramp to I-95 southbound: Weekend closure-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7th to 5 a.m. Monday, October 10th.

Detours
– I-95 Southbound –  Motorists coming from Pennsylvania will be directed to use
I-495 southbound. Local traffic entering I-95 southbound  will be detoured off at Exit 8/Route 202 and directed to Route 141 back to I-95 southbound.
– 2nd Street on-ramp –  Motorists will be directed to Martin Luther King  Boulevard to US 13 south to I-495 south.

Monday,  Oct. 10
– Exit Ramp 7B (Route 52/Delaware Avenue northbound) will be open, as will Exit7A (Route 52/Delaware Avenue southbound)
– Southbound I-95 traffic will travel on the newly constructed southbound lanes, with a single lane available through Wilmington.
