Dr. David A. Tam, CEO of Beebe Healthcare will be the keynote speaker at the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s 186th Annual Dinner on Jan. 9.

The health care executive and Navy veteran became well known statewide after driving from California to Lewes in 2020, before the date he was slated to take over as Beebe’s CEO, and as Sussex County saw an outbreak of Covid-19 that for a time filled hospital beds.

Tam became a leader in the state’s effort to fight the virus that has claimed more than 3,100 lives.

Tam and Beebe’s board are leading an expansion program in the state’s fastest growing county and is also the new home for many retirees.

In the last two years alone, Beebe has opened two health campuses and added more than 100 physicians and providers. Beebe now employs 3,000 making the healthcare provider the county’s largest employer.
