Delaware could get a little relief from a dry spell with widespread rain at the end of the Labor Day weekend.

Some flash flooding is possible.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ reported that the region will see a  very warm and humid day on Sunday with scattered showers and storms developing to the north.

The attention will  turn to the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding for late Monday through Tuesday.

Rainfall amounts of three inches are possible to the north, with an inch and a half  or less in Delaware.

The rain should benefit a small area of New Jersey seeing more serious drought conditions.

“It’s not unheard of for droughts to end with a flood, but we are hoping this rain will be beneficial rather than harmful, the forecast stated.

Portions of Delaware have been seeing sought conditions that have lowered crop yields.

Those areas have not seen widespread rainfall but have instead experienced scattered thunderstorms that miss some areas.
