Power restored for 2,000 after storm hits Lewes-Rehoboth

Power was restored to about 2,000 locations in coastal Sussex County after an early Tuesday morning storm hit the area.

Delmarva Power and Delaware Electric Cooperative each reported upwards of 1,000 outages from the storm as of Tuesday afternoon with crews working to restore power into the night.

The Cape Gazette posted photos of downed trees and property damage from high winds in early morning storm.

The storm came after warm and muggy conditions that came with advisories of intense storms and possible tornadoes on Mondays.

The activity was confined to a small coastal area and came after advisories of severe weather including the possibility of tornadoes.
