Delaware State Police have arrested three New York residents on shoplifting charges.
State police identified the trio as 24-year-old Jennifer Ramirez-Sanchez of Flushing, NY; 24-year-old Sophia Gonzales of Flushing; and 51-year-old Nubia Garcia of Brooklyn, NY.
On Thursday afternoon., troopers on patrol in the area of the Bayside Outlets were informed by a witness that several female subjects had shoplifted clothing from the Columbia Sportswear store. The suspects had concealed merchandise in large handbags and were seen walking through the parking lot.
Troopers attempted to talk to the suspects who continued walking away and physically resiste. Troopers were able to take three of the four subjects into custody at the scene, while the fourth female suspect fled the area on foot. The investigation revealed that the suspects had shoplifted from several outlet stores and had worn various disguises. The suspects had also concealed stolen items underneath vehicles in the Bayside Outlets parking lot.
The suspects were arraigned and sent to Sussex Correctional Institution after failing to post bond.
