New Castle County announces small business marketing program during PGA tourney

New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced  “The Small Business Open,” a program to help market small businesses during the BMW Championship to be held at the Wilmington Country Club. The national event is expected to draw thousands to New Castle County and the region over the weekend.

“We really want to capitalize on the opportunity to showcase the hundreds of small businesses to our thousands of out-of-town guests the weekend of August 18-21,” said Meyer. Meyer released the following video.

 

New Castle County, the City of Wilmington, and the State Division of Small Business in partnership with the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitor Bureau are hosting the following programs:

Small Business Discount Program & Digital Map Participating small businesses physically located in nearby neighborhoods to the tournament (Wilmington Country Club) can offer discounts for those guests who present a tournament ticket.  We will provide a printable logo and social media logo to indicate that the business will offer some kind of deal. The map will be promoted via QR code at the tournament and will list participating businesses and neighborhoods. Click here to register.

Small Business Night Market For those businesses who do not have a storefront or are located farther away from Wilmington, there will be a market space located behind Frawley Stadium at the Riverfront, for our small businesses to sell their products along with food trucks and entertainment. The Night Market dates are August 19th and 20th from 7p.m. to 10 p.m. There is a fee to register for a table. Click here to register.
