Number of new Covid cases falls to 35

The number of new Covid-19 cases continued to decline in the Tuesday summary from the Delaware Division of Public Health.

Tuesday figures tend to be lower, due to less testing during the weekend. However, cases have continued to decline since the peak seen in first couple of weeks in January when hospitalizations rose above 750 and taxed the staff of hospitals.

One death was reported in the Tuesday report, an individual in their 50s, with underlying conditions who was not vaccinated.

The other numbers:

  • Total Covid-related deaths, 2,752.
  • 35 new positive cases, bringing the overall total to 257,367.
  • 3.8% of total tests were positive in the seven-day rolling average, up one-tenth of a percent from the previous day.
  • 52 current hospitalizations, down 3 from the previous day, including six individuals in critical condition.
  • 14 new hospital admissions (up 2 from the previous day.
  • 2,827 tests performed daily in the 7-day average, down 61 from the previous day.
  • 660,893 people fully vaccinated, up 1,022 from the previous day, according to the CDC Vaccine Tracker.
  • 1,740,978 total vaccine doses administered, up 3,270 from the previous day, according to the CDC Vaccine Tracker.
