The Delaware Division of Public Health’s weekly Covid-19 summary took note of the first Covid-19 case, which was reported two years ago on Friday.
Since then, the state has reported 258,024 positive cases, 2,753 deaths, and at its peak in January, 759 hospitalizations.
Nearly 600,000 residents are fully vaccinated. Of those, 292,788 have received a booster or additional dose.
More than 90% of the state’s adults have received at least one dose of vaccine.
The state continues to report a decline in new cases and hospitalizations, with fewer than 60 in the hospital following a surge of cases from the Omicron variant that peaked in January.
The surge in cases taxed the capacity of Delaware hospitals with dozens of people on ventilators at one point. The number of critically ill has since dropped below five.
Delaware’s State of Emergency has since ended and masks are for the most part no longer required in non-medical settings.
