A long-time lodging establishment in Rehoboth Beach has been sold.
Reoboth Hotel LLC, which lists the same address as Newport-based Harvey Hanna and Associates, and its TKo Hospitality Management business, is now listed as the owner of the SandCastle Motel, according to Sussex County property records.
The SandCastle, located two blocks from the boardwalk, had been owned for decades by Derrickson family entities. The site also has retail-restaurant space. The motel is not currently taking reservations.
Harvey Hanna and TKo have been expanding a portfolio of hotels under their management and/or ownership. In development are hotel properties in the Lewes and Kent Narrows, MD areas.
TKo also manages the nearby Surf Club Hotel on the ocean side of Dewey Beach, along with properties in Ocean City, MD; Lehigh Valley, PA, and Newark.
Their flagship property is the Hyatt Place Hotel in Dewey Beach, a part of the Lighthouse Cove restaurant, hotel, and condominium development on the bayside of the beach town.
The sale was first reported by the Delaware Business Times.
