Covid-19 update: 6 deaths and 1,164 new cases

The Thursday summary from the Delaware Division of Public reported six new deaths and a near-record of daily new cases.

A recent new case was a vaccinated U.S. Sen. Chris Coons, who reported mild symptoms.

Of the six who died from Covid-19 complications, one was from New Castle County, four were from Kent, and one was from Sussex. They ranged in age from their 50s to 80s. All had underlying conditions, and five were unvaccinated. It brought the death toll to 2,255.

Hospitalizations remained slightly below 400.
