A fire Wednesday morning caused extensive damage to the entrance of a Christiana-Stanton restaurant.

The blaze, reported shortly before 5:30 a.m., occurred at the Miller’s Ale House at 1323 Churchmans Road in the Center Pointe Plaza shopping center near the ChristianaCare Newark Campus.

The building was formerly the site of the north woods-themed Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse. Miller’s is Florida-based chain of sports bar-restaurants with locations on the East Coast and South.

The Christiana Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames visible on the front of the building.

A social media post from the fire company indicated that the fire appeared to start outside the building and moved inside.

There were no reported injuries.  Fire damage was estimated at $50,000.  The business was closed at the time of the fire.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the fire’s cause and origin.
