Leon Weiner & Associates and an Ohio company have formed a hotel-result joint venture.
Leon Weiner & Associates is based near Wilmington and formed the venture with Orlean Company, a residential and commercial real estate developer.
The venture will carry the name of Retreat Hotels & Resorts.
Retreat will serve as a developer, owner, asset manager, and operator of hotels and resort communities.
The company has existing hotels and a pipeline of future projects.
Retreat has a presence in Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Virginia. In addition, Orlean has four hotels in the Midwest.
Retreat’s Board of Managers tapped JJ Singh, former Director of Leon Weiner’s hotel division, as its president.
Weiner is the longtime owner of the Jekyll Island Club in Georgia, which it redeveloped in the mid-1980s. Much of Leon Weiner’s hotel development has taken place in the Jekyll Island area, although it does have a Fairfield Inn in Middletown.
