Delmarva Corrugated Packaging is nearing the completion of its packaging plant in Dover.
An October opening is planned, with hiring underway for various positions with pay starting at $18 an hour for production workers. The paper corrugating plant will operate with first and second shifts.
With an estimated price tag of $80 million, the plant is being built as Delaware sees a boom in distribution centers led by Amazon.
The site features a rarity these days in the form of a rail spur that makes its way into the building.
Delmarva Corrugated is slated to receive as much as $3 million in grants from the State of Delaware approved last year. Total employment is projected at about 160. The plant was first known as U.S. Corrugated of Delaware.
