TidalHealth has ordered  Covid-19 visitation restrictions at its hospitals in Seaford and Salisbury, MD.

Visitation is restricted on certain units at TidalHealth Nanticoke and TidalHealth Peninsula Regional starting Frida and will be in effect for all areas of the hospitals starting Saturday with a few exceptions,  a release stated.

Disabled patients, pediatric patients, Labor & Delivery, and Emergency patients may still have one designated support person with them.

Exceptions may be made for end-of-life circumstances.

TidalHeath’s Nanticoke hospital is in western Sussex County. The Delaware Division of Public  Health has identified western Sussex as an area of concern, with a low vaccination rate and a rising number of cases.

The faster-spreading Delta variant is believed to be the cause of the surge in cases.

“We regret having to take these steps, but it is necessary due to the increase in Covid-19 cases at the hospitals and high rate of transmission in the community. Visitation at our nursing home and assisted living is not changing,” according to a statement from TidalHealth.
