Delaware-based creative agency, Shiny, made a bold move during the uncertainty of the pandemic by investing in new tools and technologies, and most importantly, the team. The risk paid off. Scopes of work expanded and new projects were born across existing clients such as W.L. Gore, a leading smart home brand, USI Affinity, and one of the top three Financial Services brands on the Fortune 500. To support the accelerated growth, the agency announces several new hires and promotions.

To further bolster Shiny’s creative capabilities, Jonathan Weiss joins Shiny as Associate Creative Director. Weiss brings a robust design portfolio with over 10 years of brand experience in graphic, web, and visual design, user experience, branding, and social media. Prior to joining Shiny, Weiss designed for office supplies and retail brands like Office Depot and Clothpromotions Plus. Weiss will be responsible for leading all ux, design, and content on the Fortune 500 Financial Services company, in partnership with Shannon Stevens, Partner, Creative Director.

As their client roster expands, Shiny strengthened the Client Services department with two new hires. Bryn Fetrow joins as Senior Account Director to head up some of the agency’s key accounts. With a diversified background in project management and media across environmentals, consumer packaged goods, and pharmaceuticals, Bryn will be responsible for leading the charge on a range of accounts, including W.L. Gore and a leading smart home brand. She joins most recently from AmeriGas and prior to that, Publicis’ Zenith. Shiny also brings Sarah Burton to the Client Services team. A recent graduate of Elon University, Sarah will support the leading Fortune 500 Financial Services account as Assistant Account Manager.

Team member promotions recognize the ongoing work to accelerate growth and success. Joe Johnson, former Account Director, is now Senior Account Director. Joe leads one of Shiny’s largest Fortune 500 financial services accounts. Also being promoted is Colleen Gritt, from Account Coordinator to Project Manager.
Shannon Stevens, Partner and Creative Director said, “We have ambitious plans for Shiny’s future and the growth coming out of 2020 unquestionably puts us on that positive trajectory. The team is thrilled to welcome new team members that bring different perspectives, ideas, and skillsets to an already experienced team. We can’t wait to see their impact on our client’s brands creating work that matters.”
Despite working against the many challenges that 2020 brought on, Shiny’s large-scale capabilities and small agency agility placed them in a position to secure new client wins. Pitched, signed and executed 100% remotely, Finite Carbon, North America’s leading developer and supplier of forest carbon offsets, called on Shiny to brand and launch a new offering, the first in the category. CSC Station, a modern coworking space in Wilmington, and Delaware shopping chain ShopRite were amongst other new business wins that were achieved remotely and ultimately presented the need for several strategic pivots to adjust to the health, economical and environmental crises occurring in the world. These successes allowed Shiny to give back to the community during a time of crisis. Donations to the Delaware Food Bank and other charitable organizations were handpicked by Shiny employees that are held near and dear to their hearts.
“We are firm believers in using intelligent design and authentic engaging communication to deliver strategy that performs and ideas that move people to action. By leveraging our location and size, we have the competitive advantage to be a strong and nimble team servicing some of the nation’s most respected brands. And because of this, our team, client success, and overall business is thriving,” said Katy Thorbahn, Shiny Partner and Managing Director.
Shiny’s award-winning work for consumer and b to b brands spans verticals and is recognized in respected programs with the likes of The Stevie Awards, Addy’s, Dead Work Awards, MarComms and American Advertising Awards.
