Parent company Greyhound is picking up Bolt bus routes from Wilmington.

Bolt operations have been “paused,” with Greyhound covering all routes from Wilmington with identical or lower ticket prices, a release stated.

BoltBus routes from Wilmington include a short hop to Philadelphia.

“To ensure the stability of this community, Greyhound remained open throughout the pandemic to provide an affordable option for those who needed essential travel,” said Bill Blankenship, chief operating officer, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “With the demand for all travel increasing, we are excited to combine our resources and extensive network with BoltBus in order to provide the best service to the community.”

Greyhound buses now have amenities that include free onboard Wi-Fi, power outlets, reclining leather seats, and added legroom, the release stated.

Onboard entertainment options include  TV shows, movies, news, and Audible content.

Greyhound also has a Road Rewards loyalty program.

The BoltBus website says the service will resume after some renovations. However, no timetable was disclosed.

BoltBus operated on the East Coast and Pacific Northwest as a budget-priced alternative to discount operators like MegaBus.

BoltBus offered deeply discounted fares for a few passengers with higher fares as more tickets were sold on a route.
