The last daily Covid-19 report from the Delaware Division of Public Health shows the state with a 1% positive test rate and fewer than 25 daily cases.

A lower number of cases and the upcoming end to the executive order were cited in the decision to shift to a weekly update.

In the meantime, the state continues to inch its way to having 70% of its adult population receiving at least one dose of vaccine. The percentage of vaccinated adults in the state stands at 69.3%.

The nation is expected to fall short of the 70% goal set by the Biden-Harris Administration as outbreaks of the virus show up in largely unvaccinated residents in states like Missouri and Arkansas.

Unvaccinated residents account for the bulk of hospitalizations in the state.

At the current rate, Delaware could reach the 70% figure late next week, although state officials are only cautiously optimistic, given a long-running decline in daily vaccinations.

Delaware will continue to push for more vaccinations once the 70% goal is reached. Areas of focus will include those over 12 and young adults as fall approaches.
