After spending Father’s Day weekend at his home near Greenville, President Joe Biden left Delaware on Sunday night.
Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden departed from the National Guard base at New Castle Airport at 8:25 p.m., arriving at the White House about an hour later.
The Bidens attended mass on Saturday night in the only posted weekend event.
The trip back to Delaware came after Biden’s first overseas trip that included tea with Queen Elizabeth II and meetings with Russian Premier Vladimir Putin and G7 leaders.
On Friday, the president departed the White House at 2:55 p.m. and arrived via the Marine One helicopter at 3:50 p.m. at New Castle Airport.
The motorcade trips from the airport typically result in temporary delays for motorists as the motorcade travels to his home.
The president has been spending the bulk of his weekends at the family home.
The President and First Lady Jill did spend a few days after Memorial Day at their second home near Rehoboth Beach to mark Jill Biden’s 70th birthday.
The trips have a modest impact on the northern Delaware economy as traveling reporters and others around the president dine and stay in Wilmington.
