A Milford “pet resort” business is celebrating the 10th anniversary at its newest location.

According to a release, Fur Baby will mark the milestone on May 1.

Sherry and Bryan Shupe own the business. Sherry launched the business with Bryan, later marrying Sherry and becoming a partner in the business.

Fur Baby, which started out selling pet supplies,  moved four times over a decade and continued to expand its services to include grooming, daycare, and boarding.

More recently, the  Shupes bought their own 10,000-square-foot building in Milford. The build-out was delayed by the pandemic and restrictions on the size of crews doing the work.

The new space that includes an outdoor exercise area for dogs opened in January.

Bryan Shupe is a Delaware state representative and former  Milford mayor.  He met Sherry while running the MilfordLive news website.

Bryan Shupe now heads  DelawareLive, after a sale to Chris Kenny, a northern Delaware supermarket executive.  The web-based company continues to operate MilfordLive, TownSquare Delaware, and the former Delaware 302  sports website.
