At dinner hour on Tuesday, Gov. John Carney will hold a virtual Covid-19 update and town hall rather than the usual afternoon press conference.

The virtual event gets underway at 6 p.m.

Delawareans can submit questions to townhall@delaware.gov. This event will be live-streamed on Governor Carney’s Facebook pageYouTube and de.gov/live.

The event comes when all Delaware residents ages 16 and higher can join a state vaccine sign-up list. More than a third of Delaware residents have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccines.

Supplies and the ability to administer doses of vaccine will remain limited, at least in the early going.

At the same time, the state has seen an uptick in Covid-19 cases and the presence of variants that can spread the virus more rapidly.

Joining Carney will be Dr. Rick Hong, medical director, Delaware Division of Public Health, and  Darryl Chambers, program director, Community Intervention Team.

Carney has been holding briefings and occasional town halls since the onset of the pandemic a year ago.
