I don’t know about you, but I’m going to miss having one of a cheesesteak and mac and cheese sandwiches every once in a while  from I Don’t Give a Fork

Owner Leigh Ann Tona says she cooked her last cheesesteak this week and moves to a new venture, Sleeping Bird Coffee.

The coffee shop will be located at the redeveloped building on Wilmington’s edge that houses Wilmington Brew Works and La Pizzeria Metro. In addition to coffee, a breakfast sandwich menu is planned.

In a Facebook post, Tona estimated 16,000 steaks were cooked from the food truck.

The I Don’t Give a Fork food truck has not been idle. With no office workers downtown, Wildwich shifted from brick and mortar to borrow  Don’t Give a Fork’s food truck and has been getting rave reviews for its hamburgers under the name Slam Burgers by Wildwich.

The burgers are available  at a lot off  Concord Pike, north of Wilmington.

Main Street Alfresco returns to  Newark.

The City of Newark and The Newark Partnership announced the popular outdoor dining event “Main Street Alfresco” will return on Wednesday, March 24, from 4 until 9  p.m.

Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Chapel Street to South College Avenue for expanded outdoor seating at multiple restaurants.

Last year’s Alfresco proved to be successful. In the early going, outdoor dining may be for hardier souls, although temperatures will continue to rise.

Parking is available in Newark municipal lots 1, 4, 6, and 7 and privately managed lots. View the parking locator here.

Additional Main Street Alfresco events will be held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month (April 14, April 28, May 12, and May 26).

A drive-thru only Dunkin in New Castle

It’s a sign of the times as the pandemic (hopefully) winds down.

Dunkin’ will officially unveil its next-generation drive-thru-only restaurant, the first in the Greater Philadelphia area, at 194 N DuPont Highway, New Castle.

The Dunkin’ restaurant offers a dual drive-thru and a walk-up window.

Those who order ahead through a mobile app can get a jump on others by heading straight to the pickup window.

Dunkin’s coffee rival Wawa is also experimenting with drive-up-only restaurants, and several fast-food chains have not reopened their dining rooms.

The Simple Greek was founded in 2015 by entrepreneur and TV personality Marcus Lemonis. WowWorks has more than 200 locations around the nation that focus on healthier food.
