In a weekly report, The Delaware Division of Public Health reported the seven-day average of new coronavirus cases decreased to 379 as of Thursday, Feb. 4.

Cases had risen into the 700 range after the holidays.

The number of people hospitalized with Covid-19 complications fell to 290 individuals, a decrease of 30 as of last week. Forty hospitalized persons are critically ill, down six from last week.

A total of 1,191 Delawareans have passed away due to complications of coronavirus. The state reported 113 additional deaths since last week’s update, including 17 due to a review of vital statistics records.

The total number of individuals who died from COVID-19 ranged in age from younger than 5 to 104 years old.

Of those who have died, 601 were female, and 590 were male. A total of 566 individuals were from New Castle County, 249 were from Kent County, and 376 were from Sussex County.

The Division of Public Health reported 56 additional deaths on Friday.

A majority of the deaths reported resulted from a recent data quality review performed by the DPH epidemiology staff.

As part of that review, DPH identified an additional 54 deaths in December and January that had not yet been included in the state’s Covid-19 death statistics. While the deaths were reported to DPH, the reports were not received by personnel who process Covid-19 deaths for statistical reporting.

The deaths will be listed by the date the deaths occurred in the My Healthy Community data portal’s trend chart.

The below information came from the Delaware Division of Public Health’s dashboard.
