DelDOT cautions motorists about slippery conditions as snow returns

The Delaware Department of Transportation cautioned motorist about slippery conditions on Monday night as a Winter Weather Warning was extended well into Tuesday.

The  winter storm warning from the National Weather Service (NWS) remains in effect for New Castle County until 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Snow is expected to continue through the night and may be heavy at times especially along and northwest of the I-95 corridor before finally coming to an end on Tuesday night.

A winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service remains in effect until 4 p.m. Tuesday for Kent County.

Additional  snow accumulations, mixed precipitation and snow could stick around  through Tuesday.

Due to temperatures reaching below freezing tonight, roadways could become icy.

DelDOT crews will continue to plow and treat roadways throughout the duration of the storm.
