Due to the forecast of snow and below-freezing temperatures, The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT)  will delay lane restrictions and work scheduled to begin on I-95 southbound in Wilmington on Friday.

Work will now begin Friday, February 19.  As a result, there will be no lane restrictions on I-95 through Wilmington this weekend.

This work is in preparation for the Restore the Corridor construction that will begin in March.

The $200 million project will reduce the number of travel lanes to one for a couple of years. The project includes rehabbing viaducts that are a big part of the I-95 route through Wilmington.

Commuters are being advised to seek alternate routes, with SEPTA service resumng between Newark and Wilmington in an effort to provide another option.
