Delaware’s total number of COVID-related deaths rose by eight from a day earlier to 1,049 as hospitalizations continued to decline, according to Sunday night figures from the Delaware Division of Public Health.
The other numbers:
- A total of 385 current hospitalizations (down 3 from the previous day).
- The number of people in critical condition dropped to 50.
- 623 new positive cases, bringing the overall total to 75,121.
New positive cases remained below 700, down from post holiday highs, but well above the summer low of about 100.
Delaware has stepped up testing, which contributes to more positive cases, but also shows the widespread presence of the virus.
