State announces more than two dozen pop-up Covid-19 testing sites

Gov. John Carney, the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH), and the Delaware Emergency Management Agency have listed community testing sites next week.

Testing locations include pop-up and Curative trailer sites and community sites hosted by New Castle County.  Delaware had been moving toward fixed sites but is now facing a surge in Covid-19 cases.

DEMA has coordinated community sites this week in addition to sites at Walgreens and various hospitals and health care locations. Delawareans can view a full list of COVID-19 testing locations and reserve a spot at de.gov/gettested. 

Walgreens now requires reservations at a few of its stores that offer to test. Areas around sites have seen traffic congestion due to more people seeking tests.

Pharmacy chain Rite Aid offers testing through a separate federal program.

Sites are typically limited to state residents.

Delawareans are encouraged to check the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services’ social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) for testing location updates due to inclement weather.
