A list of Delaware community testing sites has been announced.
Testing locations listed below include pop-up and Curative trailer sites. The state has seen a surge in coronavirus cases in recent weeks.
On Saturday, it was disclosed that A.J. Schall, the sate’s emergency management chief, had tested positive and was
“Getting tested after you’ve been with others outside of your household will help us track the spread of Covid-19, but it’s also necessary to follow basic prevention measures that we know work,” said Gov. John Carney. “Wear a mask. Avoid social gatherings with folks outside of your household. Stay home if you’re sick. We need everyone to double down on their efforts to limit the spread of this virus.”
The Delaware Emergency Management Agency has coordinated community sites and sites at Walgreens and various hospitals and health care locations. Delawareans can view Covid-19 testing locations and reserve a spot at de.gov/gettested.
On Saturday, it was disclosed that DEMA Director A.J. Schall tested positive for Covid-19 and was isolating at home with mild symptoms.
Demand for testing has accelerated as the state sees a surge in Covid-19 cases. Selected Walgreens pharmacies are now requiring reservations after traffic congestion developed around the stores. A few Rite Aid stores also offer tests.
Delawareans are asked to check the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services’ social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) for testing location updates due to inclement weather. A Monday testing event at Judy Johnson Field on Wilmington’s Riverfront has been canceled due to wind and rain.
