In its Monday report, the Delaware Division of Public Health reported a continuing increase in new coronavirus cases.

The number of new cases remained above the 180 mark for two consecutive days.

The number of l new positive cases was well above the 140 to 150 figures reported during the past couple of weeks. The number of positive cases was well above the 90 to 100 cases recorded during the summer.

The number of positive cases has been rising throughout the nation. House parties and other get-togethers are viewed as major factors in the upturn in cases.

The state has stepped up testing that leads to more cases.  However, the higher number of positives is well above the 100 or fewer cases recorded during much of the summer.
