Sussex Tech will close for two days for deep cleaning after two staff members tested positive for coronavirus.
The staff members followed proper social distancing and mask-wearing protocols when on campus. People who were in contact with the affected staff members have been notified individually and advised on the recommended course of action, a release stated.
The District encouraged all families to monitor students for any symptoms of Covid-19.
As a precaution, the campus will be closed Oct. 12-13 for deep cleaning, and reopen Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Classes and meetings will continue to be held remotely during that time.
Sussex County schools have been moving more aggressively toward in-class instruction. Sussex has reported more cases per capita than the state’s other two counties, largely due to outbreaks in the poultry industry and senior week at the beach.
