The percentage of positive tests for coronavirus remained at 6 percent on Monday, up from 5.4 percent earlier on the month, but unchanged from Sunday, the Delaware Division of Public Health reported.
The average number of positive tests was in the 130 area based on a seven-day rolling average. State health officials would like to see a rate below 100 and ideally even half that figure.
Two deaths were reported as of Monday. Delaware’s total number of COVID-related deaths now stands at 668.
The number of hospitalizations on Monday was 107, down from the peak earlier this week, but up from the 87 reported on Oct. 1. Hospitalizations had dropped into the 50s
Delaware has seen an increase in Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths in keeping with the rest of the nation.
Still, the upturn is well below the figures for upper Midwest states that are seeing busy ICUs and rates of positive cases into the double digits.
