The website Uproxx crunched some comments on Yelp and came up with the best tacos in each of the 50 states.

The winners ran the gamut from a Rhode Island seafood spot to a more upscale New York restaurant. Uproxx questioned whether there are better taco spots in the Big Apple.

The winner in Delaware was El Pique in the Elsmere area.  Yelpers liked the classic Mexican style of El Pique’s tacos. It’s also worth noting that the restaurant has a sizable menu and offers delivery.

El Pique is one of a number of food trucks, food trucks, carry-outs, and family-owned restaurants offering tasty tacos at prices that won’t put a dent in your wallet.

The Mazer Cup International competition has been described as “the largest commercial and amateur mead only competition in the world”, as it is composed of two events – one for commercial companies and one for amateur mead-makers.  This year had over 500 different commercial meads and 700 amateur meads from all over the world to be judged.

This marks four Mazer Cups for Brimming Horn and  Talkington in the three years the meadery has been open.

A microbrewery for Delaware Park

DelawareOnline.com  reporter Ryan Cormier offered some details on a   microbrewery coming to Delaware Park, adjacent its growing sports betting operations.

The price tag is reported to be $1.7 million for the brewery. It’s good to see that Delaware Park is putting money into the complex in Stanton-Christiana during the pandemic.

The State of Delaware moved quickly (by East Coast standards) to open the state’s three racinos. (racetrack-casinos), a sizable source of revenue for government.

Unlike its downstate counterpart, Dover Downs, Delaware Park did not pump vast amounts of money into the scenic site in the form of a hotel, standalone casino  and meeting facility. That looks like a wise move in 2020.

Delaware Park does have a golf course and an upscale restaurant as well as lots of room for food truck and brewing events that have proved to be popular.
