Delaware drivers are seeing higher gas prices, with a six cent jump during the past week, AAA figures indicate.

South Jersey motorists also  saw higher prices at the pump due to New Jersey’s new 9.3-cent gas tax increase that went into effect on Oct. 1.

Despite the hefty hike in the gas tax, Delaware’s average gas price close to the Delaware number,  despite a gas tax that is 27 cents higher in the  Garden State.

Bargains were available in Delaware, especially in the Dover area where Sam’s Club was offering member’s only price of $1.93 a gallon. In northern Delaware, the Costco and BJ’s warehouse clubs were offering a $2 a gallon price.

A price decline is possible as driving lessens during the fall and winter months.
