The Delaware Division of Public Health reported 132 new positive cases and a drop in hospital stays in its Tuesday report.

Based on figures gathered on Monday night, the state saw one additional death from a day earlier. That increased Delaware’s total number of COVID-related deaths to 686.

Sussex remains an area of concern for health officials, due to a growing number of cases at a time as former hotspots like Newark have seen a lower level of cases. No major outbreaks have been reported. However, hospitalizations have risen, with Beebe health care placing visitation restrictions at its hospital in Lewes.

The state reported  positive test rate of 7.3 percent, based on a seven-day rolling average, up a tenth of a percent from a day earlier. The percentage of total tests was 3.4 percent, up two-tenths of a percent from the previous day).

The seven-day rolling average is used to account for the uneven flow of test results.
