Regal Cinemas is again shutting down its theaters in Delaware and elsewhere.

Regal operates cinemas in Glasgow and North Wilmington.

The second-largest cinema chain has been struggling with a lack of new movie releases and Covid-19 restrictions. While many states have allowed theaters to reopen, reduced capacities and a reluctance by moviegoers to venture out were factors in the decision.

Regal waited until  August to reopen its more than 550 theaters, despite Delaware and other states allowing openings with reduced capacity.

A social media post said the closing was effective until further notice beginning later this week.

The decision came after another delay in the release of the newest James Bond film, the Wall Street Journal (subscription) reported.

Studios, like Disney,  have been turning to their own streaming services or Netflix in scheduling releases.
