The New Castle County Division of Police reported one dead and others were wounded at a strip center in the Brookside area south of Newark.
Police were called at 12:47 a.m. to what is now known as Shoppes of Village Square and found multiple victims of gunshot wounds. One male was found dead at the scene.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit, Major Crimes Squad arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
The shopping center area is one of the few commercial locations under the jurisdiction of County Police, since it is located off a county road. Most commercial areas in Delaware are policed by State Troopers.
