Remembering Sept. 11th

177

Flags in Delaware are flying at half-mast today to mark the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, as well as a passenger jet that crashed in a Pennsylvania field after passengers confronted the attackers.

The attack claimed the lives of several Delawareans and Delaware natives.

Under a joint resolution approved by Congress, September 11th of each year has been designated as “Patriot Day”. This law directs flags be lowered to half-staff for the day.
