Winter

Duane Morris LLP has appointed Christopher M. Winter managing partner of the firm’s Wilmington office. Winter succeeds Business Reorganization and Financial Restructuring Practice Group partner Michael R. Lastowski, who led the office since 2010. Lastowski will be moving into an of counsel role with the firm.

“Mike has had a long and storied career as a highly respected member of several professional bankruptcy organizations and associations, which has served to make our Wilmington office a strong and integral part of the firm,” said Matthew A. Winter is co-chair of the Finance and Restructuring Transactions division of Duane Morris’ Business Reorganization and Financial Restructuring Practice Group and serves as a team lead for the Duane Morris Banking and Finance Industry Group.

Winter is a graduate of Rutgers School of Law (J.D., with honors, 2001), where he was articles editor of the Rutgers Law Journal, and Rutgers University (B.A., 1995).

Duane Morris opened the Wilmington office in  1985.

Fallon joins Faegre Drinker

Faegre Drinker announced that Brett Fallon has joined the firm’s Wilmington office as a partner in the finance and restructuring group. Fallon comes to the firm from Morris James LLP. He is the ninth attorney to join Faegre Drinker’s finance and restructuring group since June 1. Fallon follows several other  finance and restructuring attorney additions that include  counsel Ian Bambrick in Wilmington.

“Brett is an exceptional restructuring lawyer and litigator who has more than 30 years of experience practicing in the Delaware Courts,” co-chairs Tom Froehle and Andrew Kassner said in a joint statement. “He is highly regarded by both clients and the Delaware Bar, and his practice strengthens our well-known and established capabilities in Wilmington. His addition continues the recent expansion of our global finance and restructuring group, which is an area we have targeted for further growth to support our clients in the current economic cycle.”

Fallon continues to maintain a robust corporate litigation practice in the Delaware Court of Chancery, and an active commercial litigation practice in the Superior Court and in the United States District Court.

Fallon earned his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Duke University and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Duke University Law School.

Faegre Drinker launched global operations, effective Feb. 1, 2020, the result of the combination of Faegre Baker Daniels, an international law firm with roots in the Midwest, and Drinker Biddle & Reath, a full-service national law firm based in Philadelphia.

Santaniello to lead Porzio’s new Wilmington office

Porzio, Bromberg & Newman P.C.  is delighted to announce that Cheryl A. Santaniello has joined the firm to launch and lead Porzio’s first Delaware office.

The new office is part of the firm’s long-term strategy to offer clients expanded services in Delaware and  access to its bankruptcy court. Santaniello brings three decades of legal experience and community service to the position.

The office supports Porzio’s  bench in bankruptcy in its New Jersey and New York offices. The new office is located at 300 Delaware Ave., Suite 1220, in Wilmington.

In addition to serving as managing principal of the Wilmington office, Santaniello is a member of Porzio’s Real Estate and Bankruptcy Practice Groups. 

Santaniello received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and her B.A. from Vanderbilt University.

Ryan Newall joins Young Conaway as partner

Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP  announced  that Ryan P. Newell has joined the firm as a partner.

Newell represents parties facing a variety of business litigation matters before the Delaware Court of Chancery, the Delaware Superior Court, the Delaware Supreme Court, and the District of Delaware.

When not in the courtroom, he counsels clients regarding Delaware corporate governance and other commercial law issues.

Newell is a Delaware Superior Court certified mediator and is frequently appointed by the Court of Chancery and Superior Court as a special master and discovery facilitator.

Newell is admitted to practice in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. He attended the Dickinson School of Law. Newell received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.
