Covid-19 deaths up one to 604 as rate of positive tests drops to 4.3%

Deaths from complications from coronavirus rose by one to 604 as of Tuesday night.

The latest to die from Covid-19 was a New Castle County man in his 50s with underlying health conditions.

On Monday, a duplicate death record was identified and removed from the Division of Public Health’s statistics. As a result, the total number of COVID-19-related deaths decreased by one from the day prior, bringing the total to 603.

Highlights from Tuesday

• 71 new positive cases bringing the total to 16,962.
• 50 current hospitalizations (up 10 from the previous day)

Figures from the Delaware Division of Public Health showed the state with 4.3 percent rate of positive cases to tests over a 14-day rolling average during the weekend.
