Former Vice President Joe Biden and his vice-presidential running mate, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris will make their first joint appearance. The appearance is now slated for around 4:30 p.m.

The appearance will take place at A.I. DuPont High School in Greenville, near Biden’s home. Media reports indicated a crowd had gathered outside the high school to catch a glimpse of the candidates.
Media representatives were inside the high school in the socially distanced event. The soundtrack leading up to the appearance featured tunes like the 1970s hit “Mr. Big Stuff.”
Harris and Biden have also scheduled an online-based fund-raising event. Biden announced the selection of Harris, a former California Attorney General on Tuesday afternoon.
Wilmington is in the national spotlight today, with a focus on the Hotel DuPont, where activity related to the Biden campaign started early this week.
Media personnel began streaming into the city as signs pointed toward Biden announcing his selection.
It has also been reported that the Chase Center on the Riverfront will be the location for Biden’s acceptance speech at a largely virtual Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee.
The Biden headquarters is in Philadelphia but has moved to a virtual effort, with the candidate spending time at his homes in Greenville and Rehoboth Beach.
