The Delaware Solid Waste Authority will open its Pencader collection site south of Newark on July 9 at 8:30 a.m.

The weekly hazardous waste collection will begin July 15  from  10 a.m-2 p.m. and monthly document shredding will begin August 5 from  10 a.m.-2 p.m. The center is located at 470 Corporate Blvd, inside the Pencader Business Park.

The site had been in the works for a couple of years after the authority purchased the site to add more options for residents wishing to drop off recyclable items without going to the center in the New Castle area.

This Pencader  center will feature single-stream recycling bins, Styrofoam recycling, six-day a week Electronics Recycling, weekly Household Hazardous Waste Collection and monthly paper shredding.
