In unofficial results, Delaware’s Joe Biden managed to gain more than 90 percent of Democratic voters in the Covid-19 delayed presidential primary.
The vote came after the two other Democratic candidates on the ballot, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders dropped out of the race, leaving the former Vice President and U.S. Senator from Delaware as the presumptive nominee.
President Donald Trump faced one opponent and accounted for 81 percent of the Republican vote. Republicans were more likely to cast their ballots at the polls.
Absentee ballots accounted for most of the votes.
Registered voters will be mailed ballots for the September primary and November general election under recently signed legislation.
Some Republicans claim the process will have problems and increase chances of voter fraud.
Backers pointed to the recent Christina School District referendum that featured long lines, due to social distancing restrictions.
Total turnout was light at less than 10 percent, with an even lighter turnout among Republicans.
